    There are several things to be aware of for this summer. We have many different student camps that have early bird registration deadlines. If we get ahead of the curve and sign up during that time they can be significantly cheaper! I wanted to let you know about these camps, their individual costs, and give you the opportunity to plan ahead.

 

Date/Time: April 29th - 30th, 2011 - Starts at 6:00pm

Location: FBC Fairborn

While this is not a summer camp I wanted to get you more information about it. Disciple Now is a weekend to be challenged in your walk with God. We will be studying through what it means to be "Altered" by Christ (Philippians 1:21). To have our identity found in Him. Students will be staying at church member homes here in the Fairborn area and all food is provided. Sign up! Just $30 covers the whole weekend, food, fun, and fellowship! Come on out!

Super Summer is an intense week of leader development for youth who have completed 7th grade until through completion of 12th grade.  It is not for the faint at heart.  It consists of many hours of Bible Study and small group interactions, as well as some dynamic worship experiences.  Our motto is "Send us your best, and we will send them back better!"

The week is preceded by a family leader training weekend where adult family leaders will be trained in leading small groups.  This weekend is a mandatory weekend for all leaders involved in Super Summer.  It starts on Saturday afternoon and ends when the youth arrive on Monday. 
Registration fee of $50 is due at the time of registration.   The total cost is $210 if registered between March 1  - April 30.  The cost increases to $240 for those registered between May 1 -20th.  No registration will be accepted after May 20th. 

There are application packets available in the youth wing and attached to the "Forms" section for your students. As a student ministry, we will give scholarships to those selected to go to Super Summer and cover $160 of the cost. $50 will be all that is required of the student.

Date/Time: July 10, 2011 - July 14, 2011 

Location: FBC Kettering

Early Bird Registration: May 22nd

We will be joining other churches in the area for a mission trip to reach our own local area.  It’s called eMERGE! It will be Sunday, July 10th and finish up on Thursday, July 14th.  This is for 6th grade through college.  We will be staying on the beautiful campus of Athletes in Action at the Legacy Ministries International Campus in Xenia, Ohio.  We will be working in areas offering Vacation Bible School, assisting in soup kitchens, working with the elderly, running a Children’s Soccer Camp, and working with the homeless and ministering to a wide variety of needs throughout the Miami Valley!  Cost is $275 per student.  Applications and a non-refundable $50 deposit is due on Sunday, May 15th,  to secure your reservation.  The remainder of your fee ($225.00) and all notarized forms are due to June 26th.

We will be starting fundraisers to assist with these costs, please stay tuned for dates and times! Parents Night Out is a good way for your students to raise funds for all youth events. The next date is April 15th at 6:30pm. Need more info? Call the office at 937-878-8629.

Youth Sunday and Upcoming Events!

Hello Everyone!

    Youth Sunday was excellent! Our students really stepped up to the plate and gave it their all. Our praise band did very well and Daejanna's message was great! You should be very proud of each and every one of them!

    We have several exciting things coming up for April and May! There are a few things that we will need assistance with. Disciple Now, on April 29th we need host homes for our teenagers for Friday and Saturday night that weekend. We will provide all meals at the church, your only responsibility will be for their lodging and to bring them/pick them up from church. Host homes will only have either a group of boys or girls. Please contact me directly with any questions or to sign up as a host!

    Our lock-in will be taking place on May 27th from 9:00pm - 7:30am. We will need assistance with van drivers and youth workers. As we get closer to the event we will have a better idea of who will be coming and how many youth workers we will need. If you would like to assist, please contact me.

Clarity Theme Night, April 6th: Geek night! From 6-9pm!! There will be food, games, and good times! Come on out and have a blast with us!
 

This event ends at 9pm.

Disciple Now, April 29th: Disciple now is a weekend of Bible study, praise and worship, serving our community, and growing closer to God! We are going to have a blast! Sign up and get involved! $30 per person gets you a t-shirt, food & lodging for the weekend.

Lock-in, May 27-28th: We are having a lock-in! This will be a great night of games, food, bible study, laser tag and much more! We will need help from our youth workers for this, please contact Kevin Singerman if you want to assist! More details to come!

There will be a lot of things taking place this month and I want to make sure that you are staying informed. I hope you start this month off in the grace of the Lord and that you make an effort to spend as much time with Him as possible!
