We are in Bobo! Had a great 4 hour ride down from Ouagadougou yesterday and an awesome first day in Bobo today. We visited a compassion international site (one of the churches helps heavily with that ministry!) And were all able to share our testimonies. One of the youth definitely came to Christ!
The church here threw us a surprise service in our honor! There was lots of dancing and singing involved. One of the main pastors explained that even though we left home we have been received to another "home" of Christian brothers and sisters. They really touched my heart through the honor they showed us! After the service Michelle asked for a jimbe lesson from one of the drummers! [A jimbe (jim-bay) is a tall African drum] They had a blast.
French has pretty much overtaken my mind. I have had no trouble with translating or picking up conversations with people. That is a huge answer to prayer! It is only by God's grace that I can remember everything after not using French at all for 5 years!
We are going out to do door to door evangelism tomorrow morning and will be sharing the Jesus film in the evening. Pray that hearts are receptive to Christ and that we see many come to know Him as Lord and Savior.
For those of you that want to know Daejanna and Michelle have been diving right in to the culture and have been loving it here! They have handled everything incredibly well. Michelle has used the words "awesome" and "so cool" too many times to count.
We are incredibly blessed and I can feel God's Spirit at work! Continue to pray for us! I will keep you updated as much as possible.
